Outdoor travel how to choose a suitable outdoor bag?

1. Choose a backpack according to your trip

For single-day outings, cycling and hiking activities, choose a backpack under 30 liters. For two to three days camping, choose a multifunctional backpack of 30-40 liters, light weight and multi-functional, with sliding chest adjustment system, suspended air adjustment system, quick adjustment system of shoulder straps, waist storage, etc., convenient and practical, safe and comfortable.

For hiking over four days, to place tents, sleeping bags, tide mats and other outdoor equipment, you can choose a backpack of 45 liters or more. In addition, the backpack used for general wilderness activities is different from the backpack used for climbing high mountains. The backpack used for climbing does not have many parts, so those who like to climb need to pay attention.

2. Choose a backpack according to the number of people

For a solo outing, you can choose a backpack of 25-35 liters. If you are taking your family and children on a holiday, you should choose a backpack that is about 40 liters from the perspective of taking care of your family, with more external systems to help your family carry umbrellas, cameras, food and other items.

3. Choose a backpack according to the length of your body

Before choosing a backpack, you need to measure the length of your upper body, i.e. the distance from the cervical vertebra to the last lumbar vertebra. If the torso length is less than 45 cm, you should buy a small size bag. If the torso length is between 45-52 cm, you should choose a medium size bag. If your torso length is 52 cm or more, you should pick a large size bag.

The reference standard is that you should be able to see your hips and legs from behind when you pick up your backpack. It is wrong and dangerous to see only a large backpack and two lower legs.

4. Choose a backpack according to gender

Due to the different body sizes and load-bearing capacity of men and women, the choice of outdoor backpack is not quite the same. Generally, for a short outing of one or two days, a backpack of about 30 liters for both men and women will do. For longer trips or camping trips of more than 2 to 3 days, a backpack of 45 to 70 liters or even larger is usually a good choice for men, 55 liters or so, and 45 liters for women.

In addition, the style and comfort of the backpack should be tried in person before choosing one. Avoid touching the frame or the top pocket when raising your head, all parts of the backpack that touch your body must have sufficient soft padding, and the inner frame and stitching of the backpack should be strong. Pay special attention to the thickness and quality of the shoulder straps, as well as checking if there are sternum straps, waist straps, shoulder straps, etc. and their adjustment straps, etc.
